The only other thing I can think of after this is you might try rolling back the display driver. Here a link to show where the troubleshooter is. Make sure that the check box to apply repairs automatically is checked off before you click next.
You might try to let windows 10 troubleshooter find and fix the issue. Some people after upgrading to WIndows 10 found that it was disabled after upgrade which didn't allow them to adjust brightness till they enabled it. If you have already went to device manager and updated video drivers you might look at your monitor driver in device manager. I am running Windows pro 10 that maybe why you don't have the auto adjust. It may not help your situation but it might help others. If you've already done that see if your bios is up to date with the latest bios for Windows 10 if not update it. That's what I did to fix this crazy low dim stuff.
